The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, began today in Villanueva del Río Segura the first stone of the Day Centre of the town, which is scheduled for early 2010.
The project, consisting of the reform and expansion of the building where the old nursing home was located, has a cost of 875,000 euros, of which 700,000 correspond to the State Special Fund for the Revitalization of the Economy and Employment (Plan E).
The remaining 175,000 euros, plus the land value will be provided by the City.
The plot where the construction of the center is attached to the current residence, which will allow communication between both through the courtyard.
The main objective of the Day Center is the global care and assistance for the elderly, both of this town as the boundary, with the provision of 20 beds to care for dependents.
