The general director of Housing and Architecture, Mark Nogueroles, today visited Villanueva del Río Segura accompanied by the mayor, José Luis López Ayala, where the Ministry of Public Works and Planning subsidize the rehabilitation of four facades of architectural interest and the removal of barriers at two of its most emblematic buildings: the City and the Casa de la Cultura.
The rehabilitation of four buildings located in the oldest part of town, has been hired, so that the works will allow for the reform of its facades, roofs and medians, will be valued and highlight its essential features architecture of the time it was built.
These actions, that will restore and maintain these representations of the traditional architecture of residential, will involve a total investment of more than 250,000 euros.
Moreover, the general director said during his visit that the Ministry will also improve accessibility in various parts of the county, among which the City Council and the House of Culture 'Infanta Cristina'.
According Nogueroles, "the objective of this investment is to ensure the accessibility of our buildings and public spaces, so that can be used by all citizens independently, which is a priority of the regional government."
Finally, Nogueroles recalled that the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture subsidized the renovation of the Plaza de la Constitution, one of the most representative of the municipality, which houses the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in the neoclassical style.
