The campaign "Security Grows' of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, aimed at raising awareness of the prevention of occupational risks at an early age, today presented awards to the students who have participated in Villanueva del Río Segura phase municipal.
The Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Economy, Leopoldo Navarro, and the mayor of Villanueva del Río Segura, Jesus Mariano Viciana, were responsible for contest prizes to students of Our Lady of the Assumption College.
The campaign, which also involved the municipalities, includes lectures to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and a drawing competition with two phases: a local or regional and a final phase in which the first three of each municipality involved.
'It grows in Security' started in 2004 and is intended for children of 5th primary public and private schools in the region.
It is intended to introduce into the school environment some basics on prevention of occupational hazards in a playful and appropriate to their level of knowledge way through informative talks and audiovisual material.
Last year a total of 7,189 participating students from 206 public and subsidized schools in the Region of Murcia.
