The Autonomous Community has invested more than 72,000 euros in the renovation of two of the main streets of the municipality of Villanueva del Río Segura, as highlighted by the Minister of the Presidency, Pedro Rivera, during his visit today to the actions carried out within the framework of the Works and Services Plan.
Rivera stressed that these are actions "of great social significance, since we are talking, on the one hand, of one of the streets that links the Carmen neighborhood and the La Paira road, and that has the highest traffic, and, another, García Lorca street, one of the roads of the historic center of the town. "
In the case of La Paira, the action consisted of the renovation of the sanitation and supply network and the household connections, and the paving of the road.
As for García Lorca Street, the urban renewal of this area of ​​the historic center of the municipality is sought through the renovation of the pavement of the road and the removal of architectural barriers, with the formation of a single platform and the elimination of sidewalks.
In addition, with the 2016 Plan, and with an investment of almost 64,000 euros, Villanueva del Segura was confronted with the acquisition of energy-efficient lighting equipment.
