The Governing Council has approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, the extensions of the contracts signed in the homes of elderly people of Lorca and Villanueva del Río Segura for the maintenance of 222 places for a total amount of 3,801 .000 euros.
The Community funds, through the Murciano Institute of Social Action, a total of 115 places in the residence Caser de Lorca, for an amount that exceeds 2,596,000 euros.
The validity of this agreement is for two years, from January 1, 2018 until December 31, 2019.
As for the management contract in Villanueva del Río Segura, 107 places will be financed with the association Golden Age Messengers of Peace for his residence in this municipality, for an amount of more than 1,205,000 euros.
The contract covers the period from December 1, 2017 to November 30, 2018.
Thanks to the collaboration with these organizations, attention is given to elderly people in a situation of dependency, in most cases with specificity for alzheimer patients.
In this way, the elderly can stay in residential care in their municipalities, or very close to them, close to their families, which improves their quality of life.
